Avis modéré par Opinion Assurances
Start - July 18th I am continuing my struggles with the car insurance. I have been a client for several years, with more than 1 insurance with them. I have been struggling for 8 days, took a week for a message from cardif, the repair of the car not authorised despite me asking many times, the free replacement car for which I pay clearly in my premium has not yet been authorised leaving me totally stranded....the list goes on. Shocking treatment, never seen anything quite like this. I will continue to post updated reviews in the coming days as this nightmare of having to deal with CArdif Iad continues...... Still no promised hire car...been 5 days even though it is a contractual obligation. Would you be okay if I delayed my contractual obligations to you? Still no expert to go and see the car in the garage so they can authorise the repairs...and it goes on......

Update again - I am continuing to wait for DAS/IMA to find a rental car - that's for the past couple of days! I don't yet have confirmation of whether the 'expert' has been to see the car at the garage either. It gets very tiring to call for hours on the phone and not move forward.
Continued update - another day gone by and the contractually obligated free car that Cardif is supposed to give me has not materialised!! I assume that they are not going to rush forward with a compensation for me are they? Imagine if we, the public, did not live up to our obligations towards Cardif! Their excuse for still not finding me a car - their local nominated company is looking for a suitable car!! What a joke - ongoing saga of looking for a suitable car to loan me for free while they delay finding an expert to authorise repairs. I am in an area near an airport - and they cannot find a rental car for me? I think even I am at a loss for words. I also assume they are not going to compensate me for all the costs incurred calling them over and over? And the time spent waiting?
Update - 22nd July 7.15 in the evening - and remember that this emergency started on 18th July. I finally have a rental car after days of telephone calls and being sent from pillar to post. I had to ask for the car even though I am on the 0km emergency assistance for a replacement car and then chase up for several days. It was never offered to me and Cardif did not make it easy for me to get the replacement car.
Now the next on-going saga is for their expert to go to the garage and give the go ahead for the repairs. It is really straightforward, but who knows how long this will take?
I will continue to post updates on the ineffectual service and follow up of Cardif IARD auto insurance.
July 23rd - the saga continues. Not a single response to the urgent messages sent on my space in the BNP Paribas website - which is where I was told many times to get in touch. Have done so. No response.
Still waiting for any information about the 'expert' who should be appointed to inspect a simple case of bent wheel rims so they can be replaced! BNP or Cardif have not been in touch to ask about my review or the ongoing saga. If I could give no stars, I would.
Update evening of 23rd July 2026. Finally, after 5 days, Cardif IARD called me today - 5 days after my emergency! All the information has been regularly updated on mabanque area as specified by Cardif. The estimate of repairs, diagnostics etc. was uploaded by me 4 days ago. IMA (who are working as the local representative of Cardif) have totally incorrectly decided that a reputable workshop/ garage is merely a depot!! Have they looked carefully at the information I have given them? They have still not visited the garage to autorise my repairs.....and the saga continues.....
Friday 24th July - update. Bearing in mind the emergency was called in to Cardif IARD on Saturday 18th July.
The Cadif agent who called me last evening said she would call back in 10 min after looking through the file. It is now more than 12 hours later and that phone call never materialised!
Meanwhile, their subcontractor IMA sent an text message last evening promising to let me know 'Friday morning'. It is now the start of the business day. I am waiting to see what IMA says and if Cardif calls back. The 1-star review stands.
On Friday, I was told that I would pay for my excess, which is okay. and to liaise with road side assistance. What do Cardif think I have been doing since Saturday? I get nowhere with my calls to them. IMA have admitted they have caused delays by labelling the workshop/ garage a depot. Asking for an estimate of repairs on friday evening (which are really straightforward, wheel replacement for example) which I uploaded a couple of times to my secure area since Tuesday. Between Cardif, IMA, Nationwide, sometimes they did not know who towed my car! They mislabelled the garage as a depot, insisting on an expert they have delayed. And now, mistakenly, an automated demand for a police report for a single car event that is not criminal!
So, basically, very very difficult to reach the emergency service, no follow up and required a lot of expensive phone calls from me, very little response from Cardif, miscommunication between their subcontractors. And one week in, car repairs still not authorised.
